Johnny Football raised the fear level of all Razorbacks when he came out blasting with two TD passes to Mike Evans in the first half. From there on the Fighting Texas A&M Aggies certainly played differently than what y’all may have been expecting, but it was a well plotted, intentional, carefully designed ground game, dependent on our ace running backs and the awesome Maroon Goons that proved too much for the Arkansas D to cope with, proving that the Aggies are a multidimensional offense that can adapt to whatever the circumstances might demand. Of course, it ended in an Aggie win of 45 – 33 over the now dejected and deflated Arkansas Razorbacks.

English teacher and swim coach at A & M Consolidated High School, Ryan Goodwyn, from College Station, Texas came closest first to predicting the final score, without going over, and wins a beautiful Texas A&M Neon Wall Clock to hang in the music room of their new home. Of course, if he wishes he can trade that prize in for poker chips or anything else of equal or lesser value from the Texas Poker Store. Congratulations, Coach Ry!

Here is a list of the top predictions without going over for this game:

Aggies vs RazorbacksThe Aggies are back to conference play this Saturday as they roll into Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. And Arkansas plays “grown man’s football” as the saying goes; they line it up and run at you and this year they’ve been a power running team. This will be another huge test for the Aggie defense, which improved a lot last week against SMU’s passing attack and will be relying on the strength of Kirby Ennis, Julien Obioha and Steven Jenkins to hold that line.

Of course, if the Aggie offense is as dominating as we expect them to be, with Johnny Manziel getting off to another quick lead and Evans and Kennedy making those big catches when it counts, then the Razorbacks might have to throw more, which works in the Aggies favor.  We believe the Aggies will be the road warriors that they were last season and come away with an impressive win.

Confessions of a Grinder Vinny the VenetianConfessions of a Grinder

September 19th was an eventful day for poker. There was some great news for Online Poker enthusiasts in the USA. When I visited the WSOP in June, I saw some people signing up for the WSOP’s official online-poker site. I thought to myself; ‘This is probably too good to be true at this stage.’ However, disappointed, frustrated and faithless American poker players who were cheated by their very mentors had a glimmer of hope, when the Big Daddy” of poker leagues, The WSOP, launched its online-poker site on Sept 19th. Site owners Caesars Entertainment and 888 Holdings were only the second entrepreneurs to launch an online-poker site for Nevada locals. The site saw some 120 players play on Thursday evening, and though the numbers are nothing compared to Pokerstars, I am sure they will rise in the coming months. I am particularly looking forward to the WSOP Online Championships in October with the winners of nine main tournaments playing the Online Nine alongside the famous and much anticipated November Nine, with Half-A-Million added to each prize pool. I am also sure that this is the second of many more poker sites to follow in the coming years.

September 19th was also eventful for me, and poker players in and around Ohio. The WSOP added another Circuit Event to its series at the Horseshoe Casino in Ohio’s own Sin City, Cincinnati. The event runs from the 19th till the 30th, and has exciting tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $365 to the $1675 Main Event. There are no massive guarantees like the SHRPO in Hollywood, Miami, which I recently covered. However, winning a WSOP Ring is always prestigious, and both the turnout for WSOP Circuit Events and the Prize Pool have always been solid.

You won’t even have to look in any Poker Books for the answer, it’s that simple. Where do you think I am going to be till the 30th? Think about that while I go get me some green.

Texas A&M Aggies vs SMU MustangsIt’s Game Day and we’re predicting that it will be an easy win for the Aggies today. The Southern Methodist Mustangs QB Garrett Gilbert will be trying to continue his completions lead by hitting his go to receivers Darius Joseph and Jeremy Johnson, but will that be enough to stop the 12th Man? We don’t think so. After all, it’s not a fair competition; remember that SMU has not defeated A&M since 1984.

the Casino X2 Poker Table from The Texas Poker StoreThat makes it a no-brainer for us to go all-in for the Aggies. So we have put away our poker tables and donned our Aggie shirts and are headed to Kyle Field to join the thousands of loyal die-hard Texas A&M fans to cheer for our Texas Fighting Aggies. After all, can anybody stop the Aggie offense? Can anybody prevent Mike Evans from balling or Johnny Manziel from being Johnny? Go Aggies! BTHOsmu!
