Even though Katy Perry’s song, “Waking Up In Vegas” is not exclusively about poker, it is about the world and, more significantly, about the city where arguably the biggest poker games have been played: Las Vegas. The song and video tell a little story about how Vegas can give it all to you and Vegas can take it all away. Perry with “Quad Aces” loses a $17 million plus pot to Daniel Negreanu’s “Royal Flush”.
We’ve seen a royal flush beat quad aces before in Vegas, like when Justin Phillips beat Moriyuki Mabuchi at the 2009 WSOP, so we well know that anything can happen at the poker tables. And as we always say, “Some days you can win with an ace high and other times you can’t win with quad aces.”
