Archive for June 1st 2012

The first event at this year’s WSOP was the Casino Employees Event that took place May 27 and 28. In a field of 732 entries, the winner was Chiab “Chip” Saechao,  taking home $70,859 and this year’s first gold bracelet.

Event number two was taken down by Brent Hanks from Las Vegas. Hanks walked away with a sweet $517,725 from this year’s first $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’ em tournament. He also took home the second WSOP gold bracelet.

Event three was won by a guy who many claim to have the coolest name in poker — Leif Force. The force was certainly with him in a first-time poker tournament called “Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em / Pot Limit Omaha” with a $3,000 buy-in and a field of 317 entries.  Force ended up winning this new tourney format and pocketed a nice little sum of  $207,708 in prize money , and a brand new, shiny WSOP gold bracelet. The third for 2012.

Event number four was a  “Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8 or Better” and it belonged to Cory Zeidman. With this win Zeidman became  the fourth player to win a gold bracelet at this year’s WSOP and $201,559.

We were hoping to see Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu take Event five, but he was eliminated in 5th place a couple of hours ago and the table is now down to just three players  with Jivkov leading in poker chips by almost 2 million as of around 7 pm PST.

We’ll try to keep you in the game as much as possible.  In the meantime, let us know who you would like to see at the Final Table, and if you dare, go ahead and tell us who will walk away with the final WSOP bracelet.
