Hector FunesChris FarrarEvery month the Texas Poker Store has been giving away some great prizes to our fans and customers who have thrown their bids, photos, or predictions into the mix of our diverse contests. There was Hector Funes who won our monthly “Click It To Win It” campaign, as did Tyler Miller and  Keith Hayes; Macy Soudellia, who won our predict the score for Super Bowl XLVII,  and most recently Dr. Matthew Greene who won our June Photo contest with his “Two Pairs” photo. Chris Farrar won a beautiful set of poker chips for his prediction on the outcome of the Aggies vs Razorbacks game, and Francisco Navarro was another Predict the Score winner. There were lots more winners, too.Keith HayesDr. Matthew Greene

Dr. Matthew GreeneWe mentioned back at the beginning of the month that we had our first photo contest winner, Dr. Matthew Greene.  When we congratulated Dr. Greene of Urban Optics in College Station, Texas for being the winner he was, not only delighted but also genuinely surprised that he had garnered the most votes for his photo entry, “Two Pairs”. We delivered his prize, a beautiful set of 300 11.5 Gram Striped Dice Poker Chips in an attractive Cigar Tray Mahogany Chip Case and he proudly posed for this picture holding his winnings.

It’s not too late for you to join Dr. Greene in the winners’ circle (although July is almost over and we will be announcing our July winner soon) you still have one more week left. Or you can  enter our August photo contest and jump into the winner’s circle with your kick butt poker photo. Just go to to our Facebook page and click on the Photo Contest tab or click here

While you’re there don’t forget to enter our other super-hot contest “Predict the 2013 WSOP Champion.” All you need to do is go to, look for the tab that says “Your 2013 WSOP Prediction” click it and enter to win. If you’re on your mobile device, then click here to access the contest. Just follow the directions, it’s easy and a lot of fun. See y’all in the Winners’ Circle.

Jim Paris at the rails at the 2013 WSOPAfter returning from an exciting four days at the 44th annual World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the Chief Dealer at the Texas Poker Store, namely me, would like to announce a new contest to predict the winner of the 2013 WSOP November Nine.

We are ready to add some sweetening to the pot for our faithful fans and customers.

Last month, we announced a summer discount on every product in stock, and to celebrate the 44th annual World Series of Poker, an additional 10% discount on any of our folding poker tables  in stock to the first nine poker players who claimed their poker table before this year’s final nine WSOP players were confirmed.

The November Nine have been confirmed, so it’s time to up the ante. Because y’all have responded well to our discounted prices, we want to engage you in a contest to predict the winner of the epic poker battle that will take place on November 5 and 6 at the Final Table at the Rio Hotel and Casino. So this is your chance; we’re asking you to predict the winner and the first correct prediction will win $100 in Texas Poker Store merchandise. In addition, the first person who correctly predicts the winner and the runner-up (second place winner), will win a total of $200 worth of poker-related supplies from our online store.

The contest is posted on our Facebook page. All you need to do is go to, look for the tab that says “Your 2013 WSOP Prediction” click it and enter to win. If you’re on your mobile device, then click here to access the contest.

As I’ve stated over and over, the 44th Annual World Series of Poker was not just exciting, it was everything you could ever want from a “Thrill Ride.” Being there and watching the faces of the conquerors as they slammed down their winning hands was priceless. We all know that with any victory comes the anguished looks of defeat, and so it was for thousands of dreamers this year as it is every year, but there were many who, although may not have seen their dreams fully realized, were still able to walk away with huge paydays.James Alexander and Jim Paris

Take, for example, James Alexander, whose dream was shattered a bit early taking him out in 19th place, but still able to hold his head high and smile for this photo with me just before heading over to pick up his check for $285,408.

When it got down to only ten players and the poker tables were merged to only one feature table, I was fortunate enough to have landed a seat at the rail as you can see by this pic (if you look very closely; I highlighted it for you). It was exhilarating to say the least, and when Carlos Mortensen was eliminated in tenth place ($573,204) and the Final Jim Paris at Rail Main Event Feature TableNine…the November Nine were confirmed, it was as if an earthquake had shaken the foundation of the Rio Hotel with everyone happily contributing to the jarring sensations. Especially the nine players whose names would all be written down in poker history. . .  for dreamers to read about them and know in their hearts that dreams can and do come true, as long as you can handle your poker chips.

Here are your November Nine, their chip counts, and their designated seat numbers:Paris Feature Table

Seat 1: Sylvain Loosli – 19,600,000
Seat 2: Michiel Brummelhuis – 11,275,000
Seat 3: Mark Newhouse – 7,350,000
Seat 4: Ryan Riess – 25,875,000
Seat 5: Amir Lehavot – 29,700,000

Seat 6: Marc-Etienne McLaughlin – 26,525,000
Seat 7: JC Tran – 38,000,000
Seat 8: David Benefield – 6,375,000
Seat 9: Jay Farber – 25,975,000

Who knows, one of these days  I may be sitting at the feature table of the World Series of Poker…. I can see it now!
