The 45th Annual World Series of Poker continues at The Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with no surprises to speak of. Just new shiny gold bracelets to wrap around the title winners’ wrists and lots of money awarded to fatten their bank accounts.
Sean Dempsey took Event #39: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’Em and banked his second six-figure payday from the WSOP. The difference is that this one is nearly five times more than the last one; this time he grabbed $548,460. Plus he has claimed his first piece of jewelry and the title of “WSOP bracelet winner.”
Robert Mizrachi rolled over 418 players in Event #41: $1,500 Six-Handed Dealer’s Choice. He took down his second gold bracelet plus a check for $147,092 and the recognition of winning the first-ever dealer’s choice event.
Michael Drummond won Event #42: the $5,000 Six-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha. Drummond captured his first WSOP gold bracelet and $541,747 in prize money to put into his piggy bank.
We also saw Dan Kelly capturing the title for Event #43: $1,500 Limit Hold’em. Along with the title of WSOP champion, he took home his 2nd Bracelet plus a sweet $195,167 for his troubles. Kelly is not new to the WSOP scene; he won his first bracelet in the $25,000 NLHE Six Handed tournament for a staggering $1,315,518 back in 2010. He has a mind-blowing history that includes cashing 22 more times and making five final tables.
Keep tuned in and we will try to tell it like it is, live from the 2014 WSOP.
