For those of you who agonized their way through the Texas A&M vs Arkansas game the way we did, you know that the outcome looked anything but certain. In fact, with the score being 21 to 13 in the 4th quarter and the Hogs seemingly able to maintain control of the ball for the majority of the game (Ags had only 16 plays in the first half) it was looking like a very disappointing outing for Sumlin’s young squad. But, as the coach said, they made big plays when they had to, were incredibly efficient in the short amount of time they had the rock on offense, and pulled out a thriller with one of several Allen to Kirk throws for a touchdown to win the game in overtime.

Aggies defeat RazorbacksIt was definitely hard to believe for the Arkansas squad, who lost in overtime to the Ags last year in Jerry World. And, it’s really hard to believe that our loyal customer, Marcell Liner, and follower of not just our blog but also the Fightin’ Texas A&M football team, has done it again. Last year he came the closest to predicting the final score of the Aggies vs Hogs game to win a set of Copag Poker Cards. This time, he didn’t just come closest, he nailed it by predicting the final score to be Aggies 28 – Hoggies 21. Congrats, Marcell!! Your Suited Speed Felt, Folding Poker Table Top, with carrying bag, is on its way.

After their awesome come-from-behind victory last week against the Razorbacks, the #6 Texas A&M football team travels to Starkville this Saturday, Oct. 4, to take on their next SEC opponent, the #12 Mississippi State Bulldogs, who have one of the best rushing defenses and sack attacks in the country. Not only are they probably the largest team the Ags will face all season (yes, even bigger than the Hogs) but, according to Kenny Hill, “they do so much stuff up front, it makes you think more. It’s going be tough just holding up protection.”

On the other hand, The Aggie’s offensive line is more than up to the challenge. And, if the O-line can hold off some of those big guys long enough for Hill to make some moves, there just may be a whole lot of passing yards from A&M’s powerful receivers, who will probably be able to overpower MSU’s secondary. Still, MSU has Dak Prescott, a complete quarterback who is off to a great start, beating LSU in Death Valley before last week’s bye. So, is it a high-scoring game? Too close to call?

The next two Aggie football games seem to have a lot in common. In back-to-back weeks they have the exact same schedule . . . they’re playing in Dallas, which means bussing to the Metroplex on Friday and getting to see family and friends from the area. Both games (this Saturday, September 20th against SMU and next Saturday, September 27th against Arkansas) will be played at 2:30 p.m. CST. Both will be attended by tons of Aggie fans, the 12th Man, because so many live in the area or will drive there. And of course, according to Coach Sumlin, the Aggies will prepare for each game in exactly the same way, because that’s what they do!Gig' Em

But that’s where the similarities end. This Saturday, the #6 Texas A&M football team will be facing an 0-2, non-conference, unranked SMU team, whose well-known coach, June Jones just stepped down. The game will be at Ford Stadium, where most estimate that maroon will predominate in the stands. The Mustangs are hurting big time, and this should be another opportunity for a lot of guys on A&M to get some significant playing time and for some slightly injured players to rest their injuries for another week. Look for a blow-out.

Next Saturday, the Ags will be playing Arkansas in a nationally televised conference game, aka the Southwest Classic at ATT&T Stadium. The Razorbacks may not be the best team in the SEC’s western division, but they beat Texas Tech handily and they’re big and strong, SEC-strong and as we all know, anything is possible in SEC football.

It’s your last chance to get your predictions in for the final score in the Aggies vs. Mizzou football game at Kyle Field Saturday night at 6 p.m. Some think the #9 Aggies will have an easy time with the unranked, somewhat banged up Tigers. Others are worried about the extra pressure on the Ags, especially the offense, to ensure the Heisman for Johnny Football, to have a 10-game season and to be in the BCS bowl conversation. Those fans are afraid it might make the Aggies press too hard.

We think the Ags are so well coached that they’ll just play their game and handle the pressure beautifully, having a great “senior night” and an impressive win. What do you think? Predict the score and whoever comes closest to the final score will get a nice little present from the Texas Poker Store in time for your next poker game.
