We predicted a win by the Ags in our last blog, but even we didn’t anticipate the lopsided score or the overwhelming dominance – on offense and defense — that the Texas A&M football team would display at the Cotton Bowl. Johnny Football lived up to all the hype and more, as he erased any doubts about why he won the Heisman and obliterated the theories that there would be a Heisman letdown after the banquet circuit. In fact, he set an FBS bowl record with 229 yards rushing and 267 yards passing, becoming the 4th player in FBS history with 20 passing and 20 rushing touchdowns in a season. And he has three more years to be our quarterback!

It was an awesome night to be an Aggie fan. We at the Texas Poker Store want to thank Aggie Athletics, Aggie Football, Coach Sumlin and his entire staff for an incredible year. For us poker players, it’s time to get back to the poker tables. But we do it as we sadly say goodbye to our outstanding seniors and eagerly await the 2013 football season. And next year, let’s hope we get our shot at the national title we should have gotten this year!

It’s your last chance to get your predictions in for the final score in the Aggies vs. Mizzou football game at Kyle Field Saturday night at 6 p.m. Some think the #9 Aggies will have an easy time with the unranked, somewhat banged up Tigers. Others are worried about the extra pressure on the Ags, especially the offense, to ensure the Heisman for Johnny Football, to have a 10-game season and to be in the BCS bowl conversation. Those fans are afraid it might make the Aggies press too hard.

We think the Ags are so well coached that they’ll just play their game and handle the pressure beautifully, having a great “senior night” and an impressive win. What do you think? Predict the score and whoever comes closest to the final score will get a nice little present from the Texas Poker Store in time for your next poker game. We are offering a double set of  World Class Copag Playing Cards. That is two complete decks of durable professional high quality poker-size plastic-coated cards. You could be the winner this time. After last Saturday’s historic Aggie Football win over previously unbeaten Alabama, to say nothing of all the national media attention focused on the Aggies and the much-deserved Heisman talk surrounding Johnny Football, aka HeisManziel, some might expect a let-down going into this week’s game against the Sam Houston State Bearkats. But that’s not the way this team operates, and I fully believe that Sumlin, Kingsbury, Snyder and the rest of the superb Aggie coaching staff are treating practice and the upcoming game the way they’ve treated every other game during this amazing season.

The Ags start each new week at 1-0, and they will do the same this week, knowing that they want to win out for the seniors, for the 12th man and for a potential BCS Bowl game. So, as usual, I’m putting all my poker chips on the Aggies, and this week I’m predicting some huge numbers to add to JFF’s incredible stats.
