The fact that LSU dominated the Aggies in every aspect of the game played on Thanksgiving, and the fact that the Aggies looked pretty bad for most of the game (couldn’t get any offense going, couldn’t stop the Tigers from plowing through them on the same three or four running plays) didn’t make it any easier to actually have an opportunity to win the game in the final minutes (when things were finally gelling) only to have a bad call by the refs decide the outcome. Hopefully, Kyler Murray remains committed to Texas A&M, along with some of the other big name recruits we’re counting on for next season, because this team never really got it together. Neither Kenny Hill nor Kyle Allen has been the spark that was needed, that guy who can put the team on his back and will it to win, proving how very much we missed “Johnny.”

We don’t know yet which bowl we’ll be playing in with our 7-5 regular season record or what team we’ll be battling. We DO know that it will be played without DC Mark Snyder, who was “relieved of his duties” following the game; it’s a pretty safe bet that his bags were already packed.

I-may-be-bluffin-girlsWe also know that we had a winner at The Texas Poker Store. We had an incredibly close prediction by Richard Marks, who chose LSU over the Aggies by a score of 28-17. Not only did he come away with the 300 Poker Chip Set, but we think he should be a regular at the poker tables; he’s definitely a winner!

In a game that many Aggie fans are probably dreading, the Texas A&M football team travels to Jordan-Hare Stadium to face the #3 Auburn Tigers.  Last week, the Tigers knocked off Ole Miss and are 4-1 in the SEC. The Aggies, on the other hand, coming off a bye week, eeked out an unimpressive win against Louisiana-Monroe, 21-16. It was a W, though, which felt good after a devastating 59-0 beat down by Alabama two weeks before, and bad losses to Mississippi State and Ole Miss in the two prior weeks, making the Ags 3-2 in the SEC.

The Aggies seem to have lost their mojo and have been unraveling before our eyes. It’s not just one problem, either. It’s the flat, predictable offense that doesn’t in any way resemble the up-tempo offenses of Coach Kevin Sumlin or of the Aggies of 2012 and 2013. It’s the bad judgment of Kenny Hill and the inexperience of Kyle Allen. It’s the defense, especially in the secondary. But mostly it’s the toughness, the swag, the belief in themselves and each other that’s missing. So what will it take to turn it around? And does our favorite team have a chance, however slim, of beating Auburn?

300 Poker Chip Set A betting man (or woman) would say absolutely not. So, if you have any sense, you’ll predict a final score that gives Auburn a huge win over the Aggies. But that’s why sports are awesome; miracles can happen. A spark could ignite the fierce competitiveness of the Aggies and it could happen this Saturday. A risk-taker might just go with the Aggies. Be the first to predict the final score of the game, without going over, and you’ll win this 300 Poker Chip Set with an Aluminum Case, 2 decks of playing cards and a poker button set.

Well, we have a winner after the Aggies football team’s horrible showing against the University of Mississippi Rebels.

But first, just a word about the game. It wasn’t really about the fact that the Aggies lost to a far superior team. It wasn’t that they lost; it was how they lost that had 60,000 of the record-setting 110,633 leave before the beginning of the fourth quarter. The fire in the belly, the pumped up passion to at least play their hearts out just wasn’t there.

The worst thing that could have happened to Texas A&M was beating South Carolina so bad in the first game, causing everyone, including sportswriters, pundits, the Aggie faithful, and Kenny Hill to believe all the hype. So, now the Aggies are where most people thought they’d be before that hype that took us all the way to inflated egos and a number six national ranking just a couple of weeks ago. It’s time to rebuild, and Sumlin and staff have a giant rebuilding project on their hands.

The two bright lights in the game were Speedy Noil and Myles Garrett, by the way. Nice to know they’re part of the rebuilding.

And our winner was Gretchen Colford Farrar, who probably went with her gut and not her heart. By predicting Ole Miss 31 – Aggies 28. She has won the prize offered by the Texas Poker Store for her prediction.

Roulette Casino Drinking GameWe want to congratulate Gretchen, even if she did favor the Rebels instead of our team, the Fighting Texas A&M Aggies. She was the first to predict the win for Ole Miss  and takes home the second Casino Roulette Shot Drinking Game from the Texas Poker Store!

Texas A&M is coming off a bad beat by Mississippi State last week. Kenny Hill was not the quarterback we saw against lesser teams, the wide receivers dropped more passes than they caught and the O-line did not block as well as usual. And the defense; especially the linebackers and secondary, were destroyed.

reveille-ol-miss2Unfortunately, this week the Aggies face the number one defense in the country in Ole Miss. Normally, we’d be totally pumped because of our explosive offense. This week, not so much, unless the coaches make some major adjustments, Malcome Kennedy comes back healthy, the offense runs the ball more and takes some pressure off Kenny , the WRs overcome their temporary fear of catching the football and the Aggie “D” becomes about ten times more aggressive. If anyone feels pressure, it needs to be Bo Wallace.

So, who do you predict will win, and what’s your prediction for the final score? Dak Prescott was perfect for MSU last week. Bo Wallace was “the good Bo Wallace” against Alabama last week when they beat the Tide, but maybe he’ll have a letdown this week. Will a return to Kyle Field and a whole lot of coaching give the Aggies any advantage? Will Reveille take a bite out of Ole Miss?
