Day 3 saw some major upsets and major shifts in the leading players. Andrew Liporace currently leads the field of 746 players. Only a few more unfortunate souls are left who will not make it to the cash and go home empty handed.
Our man Phil Ivey is still in it and has even increased his chip count to 522,500 to rank him at 72nd place. But he was quickly surpassed yesterday by 71 players in heated battles through out the night. Of course these included Liporace, who ended the night on top of the heap to enter Day4 with 1,128,000 followed closely by Ivey’s table mate , Mehrdad Yousefzadeh with 1,124,000 for second place.
Yesterday saw a whole lot of favorites, ex-champions and big time celebrities sent to the rails including former WSOP champs Ryan Riess, Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker, and Robert Varkonyi as well as Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, and Erik Seidel, NBA superstar Paul Pierce and actor Kevin Pollak.
When day 4 got started at 12 noon PST today your top ten chip leaders were:
1. Andrew Liporace – 1,128,000
2. Mehrdad Yousefzadeh – 1,124,000
3. Raul Mestre – 988,500
4. Jesse Wilke – 975,500
5. Scott Blackman – 935,000
6. Andoni Larrabe – 923,000
7. Stephen Graner – 911,000
8. Per Karlsson – 891,500
9. Rasmus Larsen – 883,000
10. Roman Valerstein – 850,000
The cards are in the air and the action has begun…. by break time at 1:00 p.m. PST it’s down to 703 players remaining, that is just 10 from the money. Who else will be knocked out before the bubble is reached is still anyone’s guess, if you’re still in it, we hope you make it past the bubble. Good luck everyone.
