Well, I stayed to the bitter end, and although I tried to get more pictures for this report, when the final tenth player was knocked out, the house exploded into a crazed room filled with a cheering audience and a delirious Final Nine, making it impossible to get any pics.
It certainly was a long hard battle with an unbelievable amount of ups and downs for most of the 6,420 registered players to the 46th Annual World Series of Poker Main Event. But at the end it all came down, as always, to the Final Nine – The November Nine.
The 2015 November Nine are:
Joe McKeehen – 63,100,000 chips
Zvi Stern – 29,800,000 chips
Neil Blumenfield – 22,000,000 chips
Pierre Neuville – 21,075,000 chips
Max Steinberg – 20,200,000 chips
Thomas Cannuli – 12,250,000 chips
Josh Beckley – 11,800,000 chips
Patrick Chan – 6,225,000 chips
Federico Butteroni – 6,200,000 chips
Unfortunately, our favorite player, Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu, wasn’t quite able to hold on and was knocked out in 11th place. He was, very obviously, extremely disappointed. Better luck next time. It was a bit sad to watch him lay down on the floor only moments after he had done 30 pushups a couple of hands prior to his demise.
I’m on my way home now and will fill in more details in a later blog in the next few days.
